Company founders with backgrounds in nursing, healthcare technology at Epic, and the U.S. Capitol working to fight COVID-19 and drive innovation
Madison, Wis. − Nurse Disrupted today announced the launch of an emergency effort to recruit nurses in the fight against COVID-19 as it surges in parts of Wisconsin and around the country. Nurse Disrupted provides a turnkey solution for pandemic response planning, virtual screening with licensed nurses, and secure documentation to help organizations overcome challenges like COVID-19.
“We need nurses now more than ever. This pandemic isn’t going away soon, but through our programs we can fight against the spread,” said Bre Loughlin, a registered nurse and founder of Nurse Disrupted. “Why nurses? We are trained to help mitigate fear and dispel misinformation, and that’s exactly what we do at Nurse Disrupted so organizations, companies, and academic institutions can come back together safely.”
Nurse Disrupted is working to develop a larger network of nurses, including those who want to volunteer in the pandemic. The start-up company based in Madison, Wis. provides virtual health screenings to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and ensure those they screen are practicing proper safety measures, like wearing a mask and keeping hands clean.
Nurse Disrupted has developed two programs, Virtual Volunteers and Safer Spaces. Virtual Volunteers is currently seeking volunteer nurses to provide virtual COVID-19 screenings to those at homeless shelters, providing care to those who might not otherwise receive it. The Safer Spaces program offers academic institutions and companies a turnkey solution for response planning, and is seeking employment of nurses who want to help defeat this pandemic and provide virtual care to thousands of employees and students so they can come back together. Loughlin, the CEO also an MS, RN, founded the company along with Tracy Zvenyach, PhD, APRN-NP and is in a growth phase as it helps respond to the pandemic and bring long-term innovation to the healthcare industry.
“As nurses we are on the frontlines of combatting COVID-19, preventing the spread, and helping bring organizations and companies safely back together. We need nurses who will join with us in this fight, and provide necessary virtual care to thousands of employees, students and those living in homeless shelters,” said Loughlin.
